| Caroline Blakiston was born on February 13, 1933 in London, England, UK.
Blakiston trained at the RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and has worked in repertory theatres all over the UK. She also wrote Black Bread and Cucumber which chronicles her experiences performing Chekhov in the native language in the Russian theatre, these diaries were turned into a one-woman production that has played throughout the UK: National Theatre, Swan Theatre, Stratford, Hampstead, Greenwich, and the Jermyn Street Theatre. She traveled abroad with the show as well playing in the Middle East, Hong Kong and, of course, Russia. Her efforts garnered her the Russian Golden Globe award given annually to a foreigner who has made significant contributions to the Russian theatre.
